TO GO FURTHER

The Chinese Panda is a gold, silver, or palladium coin produced by the People’s Republic of China. It has been issued every year since 1982 in different amounts of precious metal and different face values.

The panda is a mammalian species, usually classified in the family of ursidae, endemic to central China. It belongs to the order of Carnivores, although its diet consists of 99% plants, mainly bamboo. It lives only in central China, in mountainous regions covered with high altitude forests, in the provinces of Sichuan and Gansu (in the traditional Amdo and Kham regions of eastern Tibet), as well as in Shaanxi, between 1,000 and 4,000 meters.
